Vijay S. Meena is a Project Coordinator, Climate Resilient Agriculture Program and Soil Scientist, who coordinates research in the CRA Program and supports the Climate Smart Village program. From 2014 he worked at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research as a Soil Scientist before joining CIMMYT’s Borlaug Institute for South Asia (BISA) in May 2020. He has worked in various aspects of soil aggregation, carbon management index and carbon and nitrogen sequestration potential under different land types and cropping systems. He reported that potassium-solubilizing rhizobacteria (KSR) enhances 25-40% potassium (K) availability and help plants to uptake K from the soil. Meena and his team also identified that the combined application of organic and inorganic sources is important in sustaining productivity. He is now working in the field of natural resources management for sustainable agricultural production.
