The growing climate crisis demands more attention to address increasingly fragile food systems and drive their transformation.
CGIAR will lead a delegation to UNFCCC SB58 to advocate the recognition of the significance of food systems in the international discourse surrounding climate change. The objective is to enable climate resource mitigation to bolster smallholder resilience and nourish a growing global population through robust and transformed agri-food systems.
Agricultural System/Climate Change Senior Scientist Tek Sapkota will participate in two side events: Towards Net zero food systems: How can low emission development strategies help achieve food security and economic growth; and Regenerative Agriculture: A sustainable solution to climate change. Director of Donor Relations and Fundraising Support Victor Kommerell will participate as a panelist in one side event: Regenerative Agriculture: A sustainable solution to climate change.
