The Basic Wheat Improvement Course (BWIC) is a unique professional development opportunity for early career scientists in the public and private sectors.
Major focus of the course will be practical aspects of breeding methodologies (70%), with some general reviews (30%) on plant breeding, pathology, physiology, wheat quality, etc. Lectures, workshops, and seminars are planned to cover these aspects. The course syllabus illustrates detailed programs and that will be covered by CIMMYT scientists and key guest lecturers (supported by Borlaug Training Foundation).
The Basic Wheat Improvement Course 2019 will take place in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora (México) from February 4 to May 31, 2019.
Applications are open until December 7, 2018. Junior scientists (<40yrs old) associated with national breeding programs nominated and/or approved by CIMMYT regional offices are encouraged to apply.
