Richard Fulss is the Director of the Knowledge Management and Information Technology department, based in CIMMYT’s global headquarters in Mexico.
He is in charge of the identification, development and implementation of effective information and knowledge management practices and systems in the organization. In this role, he guides the establishment of successful innovation cycles to improve access to knowledge assets for both internal and external users and partners, to increase digitization, interoperability, and process efficiency at the institutional level.
Before joining CIMMYT in 2012, he worked for the the German development agency GIZ in different roles in its headquarters in Germany and as Principal Advisor Knowledge Management and Program Component Leader in the Sustainable Land Management Program (SLM) in Ethiopia. From 2002 to 2009 he worked for the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), another CGIAR Center in senior leadership positions.
